Welcome to my website and thanks for visiting.  Let me tell you a little about myself.

Education and Experience

I graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Social Work.  I have been a therapist for over 25 years and during that time I have worked in a variety of settings including children's mental health agencies, school boards, family service agencies, post secondary settings, etc.
I have trained in many different types of therapeutic approaches including but not limited to CBT, Narrative Therapy, Meridian Tapping (EFT or Emotional Freedom Technique) and more.  Here are some of the most recent trainings:
2019 - Completed Master Clinician Certification - Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapy ~ Daybreak Therapy and Training
2010 ~ ongoing
Certified as a Traumatic Incident Reduction and a Life Stress Reduction Facilitator. For more information on these techniques, please refer to this section on my website (TIR and LSR).
January 2017
Completed training in Image Transformation Therapy (ImTT).  ImTT is a relatively new form of psychological treatment developed by Dr. Robert Miller, a clinical psychologist practicing in Vista, CA, USA.
ImTT uses a form of breathing and guided visualization designed to help clients release underlying intense emotions, which have been created through difficult life events.
Often very intense emotional pain can be released gently and easily without the person having to experience the feelings.  For more information go to:
December, 2016
Completed Parts 1 and 2 of the EMDRIA-approved Basic EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training.  For more information on the power of EMDR please refer to this section on my website (EMDR).
October 2016
Completed Levels 1 and 2 of AAMET Emotional Freedom Technique (Meridian Tapping).
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) is a practical body/mind self-help method – a process of mindful and intentional tapping on several acupuncture meridian end-points on the face and upper body.
An EFT intervention utilizes the same pathways/channels found in traditional Chinese energy medicine, while capitalising on our ability to think about or "tune-in" to our problem or issue in proactive ways.

Understanding and Treating OCD & Perfectionism - Dr. Martin Antony
I am a member in good standing with both the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

Approach to Therapy

I am a clinical social worker providing psychotherapy for individuals.  I have a strong desire to support clients through life challenges and I enjoy witnessing the changes they can achieve through a positive counselling experience.
I use a client-centered approach to guiding clients in addressing and releasing unwanted emotional or behavioural after-effects of life events such as grief/loss, injuries, illness, relationship concerns and other painful life experiences.
I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and to support you on a path to self-discovery and self healing.
